I have to admit to you that working out the second time around is so much harder than the first. Finding the time is obviously very difficult. I have found a plan that totally works for me and I will stick with it until the very end (hopefully!). I always try to work out first thing in the morning. This allows me to clear my head for the day and I am more likely to workout if I get it done right away.
I have found that a walk/jog combination is working best for me right now at 24 weeks. I will jog for about 2 minutes and then walk for double that (about 4 minutes). I do 1-2 miles of this and then I head to the green to do some body weight workouts. Liv loves this part since she gets out of the stroller and runs around while I finish up my workout. I usually do 2 sets of 30 lunges, 2 sets of 15 squats, and a 1 minute plank. Sometimes I will mix in some hip exercises as well at the end.
On days that I need to switch it up I will do a park bench workout. There are two park benches within about a 0.3 mile radius and I will run to the first one and do 20 step ups, 10 push ups, 10 tricep dips, and 10 newspaper stands on alternating legs. I then jog to the next bench and do that same. In between these two benches I will walk. I do this circuit 3 times (a total of a little over a mile).
I believe that it is SO important to maintain an active lifestyle while being pregnant. It makes me feel great and I know my baby is benefiting from it as well. These leggings from Entourage clothing are actually perfect for during and after pregnancy because they are so stretchy! Plus, the colors are pretty amazing on these babies’, aren’t they? 😉
