I started using working out to relieve stress in college and quickly got into running. I always played sports in high school but was never honestly die hard about it. When I was in college I loved to run. I would run 5ks, 10ks, half marathons and even ran the NYC marathon in 2011. Working out is such a great stress reliever and I love being able to just let my feet hit the pavement and allow my mind to drift away for a few. I wanted to create this workout for the busy moms who always say that they don’t have enough time to work out. Making time for yourself is so important to keep you level headed and your mind focused. It’s good for you and good for your kids. You CAN make room for 20 minutes in your day and fit in this workout!

Here is your 20 minute power circuit!

Do each move for 30 seconds, rest for 30 seconds, then go to the next. Once you finish the cycle, rest for two minutes, then repeat once more.

{You can use this HIIT Interval timer so that it beeps after 30 seconds to keep you on track!}

Jump Squat with Heel Click

Side Skaters 

Knee-ups (similar to mountain climbers)

Squat Front Kicks

Burpees with Push-up

Side Plank Crunch

Shoulder Tap

180 degree jump squat

Sprint

Fueling up after your workout is equally important. I usually grab something quick on the go and CVS has some pretty great healthy options. I love their selection of almonds, energy bars, trail mix and more. Their gold emblem line and abound lines are pretty impressive as far as healthiness is concerned and I really think they have stepped it up in the past year! Also, since New Years’ resolutions are overrated, set your goals TODAY. Create a workout plan and stick to it, even if it’s just 15 minutes a day.
