Without further ado…

Our living room transformation! Do you see those green carpets and yellow walls with green trim?! How awful are those? We immediately ripped out those carpets and installed my favorite Pergo flooring in its place. We decided to do the flooring before the painting so that the paint wasn’t ruined in the process of the floors being done. This room can be a bit on the dark side (except during mid day), so I wanted to bring in more light by lightening the walls and choosing flooring that was lighter as well. The coastal pine laminate flooring was the perfect choice for us for this reason. I also loved the mixture of grays and beige. It creates such a great palette of colors to choose from when it comes to decorating the space!

What I love most about the Pergo flooring is how easy it is to install. For this floor we did have to hire out since we had SO much work to be done in such little time (with the baby arriving). However, in our last home, we also had Pergo laminate flooring and they literally do just click right in. This floor took 2 men about 3 hours to do (!!!) I was seriously impressed.

We have had quite a few people over since we renovated this room and everyone absolutely loves these Pergo floors. The durability with children is also something that I love about them. Olivia has spilled literally everything on them and they are so easy to clean. They are also surprisingly difficult to scratch up, whereas wood floors scratch so easily. Honestly, if I could, I would put this exact flooring throughout our entire home. It would brighten everything right up!

The wall color is Benjamin Moore’s “Classic Gray” with “Simply White” trim. Really, anything was an improvement from the colors that were previously there! It really is amazing to me what a new floor and some paint can do for an entire space.

I will be showing you more rooms throughout our new home as we renovate them!

  1. I love how cozy your living room reno looks and the touches of fall decor – awesome. I’m in the middle of a living room reno myself and you’ve shared lots of great ideas. I love every single thing about this room.

  2. Oh wow. I absolutely LOVE everything about this makeover. Everything is so soft, and it has such a crisp clean feel. I really like the “our nest” pillow. Beautiful.

  3. I love your palette! I’d really like to go with something similar, but with the kids traipsing through, I’ve had to settle for neutrals instead of whites. I’m looking forward to being able to do it one day though!

  4. Oh my god, your living room is STUNNING! It looks so cozy and inviting. This is giving me serious living room makeover motivation <3

  5. What an amazing job renovating the living room for sure. I so love the mantel area and the flooring which so improved it. It all looks just gorgeous.
