This stud is celebrating Father’s Day with two babies this year and he really is the best damn dad out there. He happens to have Father’s Day off this year (Yippee!) and we have big plans for the day! He actually graduates from residency the day before so we are going to a little shindig for him the following day on Father’s Day. We have this little park down the street that we absolutely love going to. The other day we celebrated one of his days off by grabbing some breakfast and then heading there. Olivia was counting the frogs in the pond and running around with her butterfly catcher. She loves that thing! We followed it up with a great dinner at our favorite pizza shop down the street. It has outdoor seating and it’s great for Olivia to run around before dinner is served. Lastly, we stopped in for some ice cream, because what day isn’t complete without it?! I would love to know what you all have planned for this Father’s Day!
We teamed up with Crocs to tell you all about our Father’s Day plans. Crocs has quickly become one of our favorite family friendly brands because of how versatile their shoes are. My husband love them because he’s all about comfort and every time he’s put on a pair of Crocs, he’s got this little smirky smile because of how comfortable they are. For a dad on the go who loves to monkey around with the little ones, comfort is where it’s at! He volunteered himself for a little Q & A with me and he wants to tell you all how to be a cool dad (have your handy dandy notebook ready, folks).
Without further ado, here is an interview with the daddest man out here on the East coast 😉
What do you like most about being a dad?
I love the funny things that the kids say, like when Olivia calls quesadillas “takadeedoes.” And I love being there when they experience things for the first time. It is refreshing. Like you can actually see her thinking through “oh my gosh that white cold stuff falling from the sky is called snow. It’s pretty.” I also love having a fan club. Right now my kids only know me, so they think I’m awesome. It makes me feel good.
Besides Dad stuff, what else do you enjoy doing?
Exercise, listening to podcasts and audiobooks, and Overwatch. And I just joined the volunteer fire department, and I’m flammable, so we will see how that goes.
If you could give another dad any advice, what would it be?
Put your phone down.
What is your favorite dad activity?
That’s a tough one because I have so many favorites. Looking for bugs, walking around with one of the girls on my shoulders, going to the bounce house, and especially burying each other’s feet under the sand at the beach.
What kind of food does a cool dad eat?
Gluten free vegan lettuce. And sometimes kale if I did crossfit that day and I am feeling naughty. Just kidding. Steak. Preferably with a fried egg on top.
What does a cool dad typically wear?
Whatever doesn’t smell. Or whatever mom picked out for a photoshoot that makes money.
Where do cool dads hang out?
Man cave if available and I’m solo or with bros. Otherwise dads must find another dad with man cave to be men in. I have a neighbor that sometimes I have “driveway beers” with when we both need a breather. If I’m home, I am either eating in the kitchen (working on my dad body), on the computer, working in the yard, or running outside (working on my dad body).
Do you offer classes on how to be so cool?
Thanks to Crocs for sponsoring today’s content and my husband’s crazy way of speaking & thinking 😉
