So excited to show you this beautiful gender neutral nursery today! This beautiful nursery belongs to Hannah Matthew‘s little bundle of joy – without further ado, here we go!
My inspiration for the nursery design stemmed from wanting a calm, soothing space. I knew I would be spending lots of time there and I wanted it to feel like a retreat for both Will and me. I decided to stick with a neutral palette which I always love and add hints of soft color in the mobile, artwork, throw blankets, stuffed animals, changing pad cover, and of course, lots of children’s books. I figured that keeping the large items neutral would also allow me to change the look of the space easily if I ever wanted to go with different accent colors. I found the star decals and absolutely fell in love with them so that was really my jumping off point. They had to be individually applied and I wanted them in 3 straight lines so you could say I was totally nuts for the amount of precise measuring I had to do or you could just say I was in serious nesting mode 😉 Either way, I’m so happy with how they turned out and I think they really anchor the room. Everything else fell into place after that!

Describe the process of putting the nursery together. Did you renovate/paint beforehand?
Before decorating the nursery, we had a larger window installed, added chair rail, and had the whole room painted. I then put up the individual star decals in 3 rows above the chair rail. That was certainly a labor of love but totally worth it!
