Summer is finally creeping in on us and I am more excited than ever because we’ve been nestled in our home all winter and the kids (& puppy) are getting stir crazy! We just finished up our patio and we are so excited to put it to good use this summer! I love to be able to stick around the house on some days and let the girls run around the back yard because it can be so much easier than packing everything up to go to the beach, park, etc. Making sure that the patio is stacked with great snacks and brainstorming activities for our family to do at home this summer is one of my top priorities! Plus, as my belly gets bigger, it’s much easier to have fun around the house than to venture out. 😉
One of my favorite activities is to do a simple dinner on the grill! We will invite over our friends and while the kids play in the yard, we can relax on the patio and chat. I have been eating much healthier for the past 1.5 weeks (yay!) and so I have been opting for healthier snacks. Two great ideas for snacks by the patio are these Member’s Mark Walnuts and Almonds! Put a few bowls of these out on your patio table for your guests to enjoy as well! It’s the perfect healthy snack to munch on before diving into the yummy grill food! For the kids, I always pick up Honest Kids® Kids Juice boxes! They have a few yummy flavors to choose from and they are always a huge hit with them!

We also invested in one of these bigger blow up pools a few years ago and honestly, it was worth every penny! We love filling it up and hanging out in it! We have a few toys for the girls to splash around in and it’s big enough to fit all of us and then some more! Best part is? No pool maintenance! 😉 Be sure to lather on some Member’s Mark sunscreen before diving in! Sam’s Club has this amazing pack of FOUR that will be sure to last you all summer long!
Lastly, one of my favorite family activities is actually gardening together. The girls love to push around their wheelbarrows and play in the dirt while mommy and daddy fix up the yard! They each have their own set up tools (kid friendly) and they follow us around while we work! Pop on your favorite radio station to do some dancing while you do it and you’ll be good to go! 😉 Who says that yard work can’t be fun?!
