This time of year I love hosting friends and family any chance I can get. When I do host them I always want to have some sort of activity planned. During my last Starbucks run I got this brilliant idea to create a Peppermint Mocha Lip scrub. Not only would this be a fun activity to do with your girlfriends or children but an amazing DIY gift!
My favorite gifts to give and receive are DIY because I know a lot of thought went into each gift. Plus a whole lot of Pinterest scrolling! This DIY is perfect for anyone that loves chocolate, coffee, peppermint, or all three! It would also be great paired with a Starbucks gift card or any local coffee shop.
How to Make Peppermint Mocha Lip Scrub
2 ½ teaspoon of coconut oil
½ teaspoon white granulated sugar or brown sugar
¼ teaspoon cocoa powder
½ teaspoon coffee grounds
¼ tsp crushed candy canes
1.In small jar soften the coconut oil in the microwave for 10-15 seconds.
2.To the softened coconut oil add the sugar, cocoa powder, and coffee grounds. Mix well.
3.Sprinkle crushed candy canes on the top of the mixture.
4.Enjoy or add lid and gift to your favorite coffee lover!
The finished project smells, looks, and tastes amazing! This would be a perfect last-minute gift for a teacher, co-worker, or any coffee lover in your life. If you want to go the extra mile you could even print a label that I made that you can download by clicking here. You could also pair this with a bag of coffee, a mug, or tie a candy cane on top. Anyway to personalize it to the person you are giving it to or how much effort you really want to put into the gift.
It is easy enough that you can do it with kids and they can get in on the fun of making someone a gift. My daughter is two and helped me put the candy canes on the top. She got a kick out of “baking” with mommy. I loved the quality time in the kitchen.
Enjoy this Holiday season! Remember to slow down and spend quality time with all of your loves!
