Cutest Diffusers for Kids

Cutest diffusers for kids // Essential oils for kids

I have been using essential oils now for about 1.5 years but just seriously got back into it. After seeing the dramatic positive effects it can have on a few friends of mine, I decided that I needed to get back into it. I have been using them religiously now for about 3 months and I swear we are all healthier because of them. We did run into a bit of a situation this past week where my oldest came down with an ear infection and our little one had a bad cold & GI illness. You better bet I’ve diffusing like CRAZY and I swear it helps. Plus, I just love the smell that fills our upstairs when they are running.

If you want to try essential oils, feel free to email me with any questions and you can try them out here!

We currently have two of those cute little whale diffusers. I love them so much and they automatically shut off after a few hours. Only downside is a smaller reservoir but I have never had any issues with that!!

When diffusing oils around babies & children make sure you are well versed in safety. You don’t want to diffuse any oils that may cause respiratory issues (peppermint, panaway, eucalyptus). Pick up the Gentle Babies book to read up on using oils around babies and kids 🙂

Diffuser VS Humidifier for Essential Oils

I highly suggest using a diffuser rather than your standard humidifier to diffuse oils. There are a few different reasons for that but particularly these:

Citrus type oils will break down the plastic of your humidifier over time.

Do not use a warm air humidifier for oils because it will damage the therapeutic properties of the oils.

A diffuser allows ample time for the body to absorb the oils and give you the best effects from them. Most diffusers have settings where you can run it for a few seconds and then it rests for another a minute. Humidifiers just constantly run all the way through, thus not absorbing the oils.

Oh, and while I am on the topic of humidifiers, I recently found this AMAZING antimicrobial fish that you can place into your humidifier to fight against bacteria for up to 30 days at a time! SO COOL!
