Ellie’s little outfit is thanks to Little Me 🙂
Sleep. Humans need sleep every single day. We spend nearly 1/4 (or more) of our lives in bed, sleeping. It’s a crucial part of our day and the more we get, the better we function. Babies sleep a lot more than adults and a good deep sleep helps them to grow and learn. Finding a good, quality infant mattress is not a simple task and it’s worth every penny to find one that contains certified organic materials and promotes breath-ability. Nook Sleep Systems sent us one of their pebble infant mattresses to test it out and I will tell you right now, I am in love. And before you ask, I was not paid to write this post. All of these opinions are my own and I would never promote an item that I didn’t 100% recommend. This one is one of my top 10 items that you need to own for your baby. It’s that good.
The mattress came in a rather small box (I was expecting something huge!) It was rolled up and easily popped out of the package and once it hit the air, it expanded. It’s SO light, which is another reason why I love it so much. It’s very soft (but firm) and I swear that there may be nights when I sneak into Ellie’s crib with her for a little cat nap. I even went as far as putting my face all the way up against it to test the breathability… and don’t you know… I could breathe right through the mattress! Breathability at it’s finest, people!
If you want to read about all the difference between a regular mattress (or even an “organic” mattress) VS. this mattress, you can read all about that here. These mattresses are made with only the best ingredients including eucalyptus (which soaks up moisture and provides a silky soft surface), 100% natural latex, all natural zinc (which protects against microbes, mites, fungi & mold), certified organic wool and cotton, & PETE ( a fancy name for a clean and easily recycled plastic).
I find comfort knowing that Ellie is sleeping on only the finest materials for all the hours that she is in her crib. It also gives me peace of mind knowing that when she does flip, she is able to still have that breathability through the mattress.
The cover over the mattress zips on the underside and you don’t need to add a mattress sheet, although you certainly can if you would like! We just washed the top layer and zipped it back on! They come in several different colors (check them out here)!
