Watermelon is one of my favorite summertime foods, so it makes sense that it also translates perfectly into a cocktail ingredient. In this recipe, the citrus from the lime provides the ideal balance to the sweetness from the sugar and the watermelon (so don’t skimp when buying your limes). In just a few quick steps, these watermelon daiquiris will keep you coming back for more all summer long!
4 Shots Light Rum
3 Sugar Cubes
2 Shots Lime Juice (about 4 limes)
2 Wedges Watermelon (cut without rinds)
Put sugar cubes, lime juice and watermelon pieces in a shaker. Muddle until the watermelon is almost completely crushed. Make sure to remove any seeds that may be in the melon prior to putting in the shaker. Watermelon seeds always have a way of sneaking through the strainer!
Add in rum and ice then shake, shake, shake!
Pour over ice in a rocks glass. Recipe will make 2 servings.
