We are getting SO close to the finale of this pregnancy, which seems so crazy to me. It’s certainly flown by, more so than any of my others and I try to cherish each moment I have with this little bean still in my belly. Life flashes right before us, especially while running after two other little ones and it can be difficult at times! We have been preparing the nursery for his/her arrival and prepping other fine details, like lining up child care and pet care! It can always be a bit tricky to fine tune all those details at the very end! Hoping that everything falls into place easily!
Our two rescue kitties are pretty used to us bringing home babies since they were with us when both of the girls came home, but Winston is new at this! He is a great brother to the two girls but he has yet to be around a newborn baby and I am so excited to see how he does with the transition. I was recently introduced to a pretty cool pet behavior supplement called Zylkene that aids with soothing and relaxing pets in challenging situations (new babies, moving, etc). Made of milk protein, Zylkene is effective for both cats and dogs and comes in three different doses (depending on animal).
What I love about Zylkene is that it is effective at letting dogs and cats adapt to challenging situations without making them drowsy. Our little furry friends can be sensitive to certain sounds & situations and putting them at ease will help us too! #ZylkeneDifference
3 Tips on how to prepare your pet for bringing baby home
1.) Make sure you have someone on call for your pet before you go into labor. Have a little bag ready for them (with their food, food instructions, and anything else they may need)!
2.) Have a family member or friend take one of the new baby’s clothing items home and put it in your pet’s crate or with your pet so that he/she can get used to the new baby’s smell 🙂
3.) Stock up on a few new toys for your pet(s) to enjoy when you get home with the new baby. Winston LOVES the big knuckle bones so we stocked up on a bunch for him!

If your pet’s behavior changes suddenly in any way, schedule an appointment with your veterinarian. He or she can rule out any underlying medical issues as well as make additional recommendations. Consult your veterinarian before giving your pet Zylkene. Follow the recommended administration on the package, unless otherwise instructed by your veterinarian.
