When we moved in here at nearly 9 months pregnant, I had no idea what we could accomplish in such little time. I had so many visions for this kitchen and they are all coming to life. We still have a few appliances to replace (the cook top and stove, which you will see in part two of the reveal) but I am SO happy with the way things are turning out in here!

The kitchen cabinets are original and VERY old, but we didn’t have the money to replace them so we had them repainted and changed out the hardware. I had a pretty difficult time finding an affordable farmhouse sink, but came across this one and absolutely love it so far. It’s been really durable and for the most part, was easy to put in (thanks to my dad!) My dad has helped us SO much with everything and it would be nothing without him. We ripped out ALL of that disgusting barn wood around the walls of the dining area and replaced it with bead board. We put molding around the wood beams to make them pop more as well. It definitely lightened everything right up!

Wilsonart makes this AMAZING laminate counter tops that resemble marble. This one was me favorite and I just knew that we needed it for our kitchen. We got a crescent edge to go with it and I love the way it came out.

Our delta faucet is the same one we had at the condo, but in a brass color (which I LOVE). It has the Touch2o technology which means I can just touch it to make it go on and off (pretty darn cool, huh?)

Stay tuned for part two, where I will show you the other corner of the kitchen (we have a little more painting to do) and the dining area!

Happy Monday!

This transformation is stunning I love your style. I just transformed my kitchen, but am still dying to replace the countertops. I have been considering the laminate “marble” countertops, and after seeing you used them, may just have to run with it. Thanks for sharing!

Your kitchen transformation looks amazing. Too many details to list as favorites, but love the farmhouse sink, the ceiling beams, and the white laminate countertop. My laminate countertop is old and beginning to show its age with chips, stains, etc… , but has lasted 28 years.

  21. December 3, 2015 / 11:32 am

Wow- it looks gorgeous! I’m so glad you kept the dark wood beams- they look great against the white. Thanks for linking up at The Handmade Hangout this week! Hope you’ll stop by and link up again this week.

This is such a beautiful kitchen redesign. You already know I love it though.

My friend just moved across town when she was almost nine months pregnant. That was so hard on her. It is impressive all that you got done though. Definitely could not have been easy on you during the nesting phase of pregnancy.

I’m so happy you came over.

Ok! This is amazing! I’m in love.
Can you give me some detail on the cabinates? Did y’all have them painted or DIY? Was is expensive? I’ve been pricing ours and everyone wants to “reface” them chafing thousands! I would just replace them if I had thousands! Lol.
Anyway you home is beautiful and my new inspo!

  29. June 29, 2016 / 10:38 pm

Ah! So gorgeous! I love a white kitchen. I have been trying to decide what to do with my very oak filled kitchen. My favorite features are the white subway tile back splash and the arch over the window. I have one of those dated wavy trim pieces just like in your before picture and I hate it! Thank you for sharing on Family Joy Link-up Party. Have a great week!

Hi! I love your kitchen…so bright and inviting! I am considering the same counters for our kitchen but I was concerned about how much the brown line in the joint would stand out. Do you notice the brown seam in the joints or does it blend in? Thank you!

Love your kitchen! Did you order your countertops directly from wilsonart with the crescent edge? I am talking to Lowes and they said the price would be as much as Quartz?!!!

  39. July 11, 2017 / 9:23 am

Wow this is a gorgeous makeover! I absolutely LOVE the brass/gold faucet and hardware. It adds so much personality and a unique spin on the farmhouse kitchen!

Love the kitchen remodel!! My husband and I are looking to do ours, too. I have heard laminate countertops and a farmhouse apron sink don’t mix. How did you get around this? Any tips for us!? Thanks so much!
