There is something incredibly refreshing to me about a new year. A fresh new start. Whether it’s a promise to eat healthier, hit the gym, spend more quality time or revamp your beauty routine, everyone creates their own goals and hits the ground running come January 1st. For me, I briefly touched on how I would be getting organized in 2018 but I haven’t talked about what I wanted to reset just yet. I decided that today’s post would focus on what I plan on resetting for 2018 and things I want to make a permanent change to.
My first goal? To have more quality time with my family. I don’t mean watch a movie with them on a Friday night, or read more stories before bed; but actual quality time playing board games, riding bikes, going on hikes and just enjoying each other’s company without any technology. I am so much more fulfilled when I don’t spend a lot of time with a cell phone, television or computer in front of me. It’s funny because as a blogger, I need to be on it to create posts, answer emails and a bajillion other things so I like to spend a lot of time away from it too.
My second reset goal is to take better care of myself. With my life going a mile a minute and kids to bring here, there and everywhere – it is so common for mothers to put themselves last. I have been putting off fixing my “tailbone” issue for 5 months now. I am now enrolled in yoga classes, getting a deep tissue massage and doing daily stretches to fix it. I have started using an app called “headspace” to clear my mind and reset on a daily basis.
Last, but not least, I have reset my skin by using this 3 step reset routine. It’s so quick and not only does it make my skin feel amazing but it’s not super pricey either! There are SO many skin products out there and they range from very affordable to EXTREMELY pricey and I will never quite be able to tell the difference but this routine is simple and it makes my skin feel great, especially in this dry harsh winter weather. The deep freeze we recently had was no joke!

Every Sunday I sit down to come up with a list of that week’s meals. I am notoriously terrible at grocery shopping and I never use everything we buy and end up throwing away produce that I never got around to using. My overall plan is to eat healthier but not go crazy either. I need to be reasonable and my life does not allow me to be able to spend a whole lot of time in the kitchen doing meal prep right now with three kids 4 & under.
