This post is brought to you by NIOXIN. Thank you so much for supporting the brands that I truly love and believe in. As always, thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
You know what I look like on a typical day to day basis (if you watch my IG stories). I rarely do my hair and when I do, I only wash it every few days and then have it last as long as possible. Being a busy mom to almost three makes it nearly impossible for me to spend a whole time of time in the bathroom! I wanted to talk to you guys today about my typical hair routine and what’s been working for me and what hasn’t in the past three years since becoming a mama.
I used to wash my hair every 2 days or so and would always blow dry and curl with a straightener. Once I had my first, my hair became extremely dry and unmanageable and I needed to cut down the frequent washing and hair drying. I cut it down to every 3-4 days and typically try to let it air dry on it’s own. When I do wash it, I have been using I do wash it, I have been using System Kit #5 by NIOXIN as well as their Deep Repair Hair Masque.
that has proven to be very effective on thickening my hair again in the postpartum period. I typically let it air dry and if it’s nighttime, I put it into one long French braid in the back and sleep on it! This allows my hair to have some gorgeous curls in the AM without using any damaging hair tools! If I am washing it during the day, I will occasionally use the straightener to add in some curls later on! Whenever you use any heating products, make sure you are using a product to protect those strands! This Therm Activ Protector by NIOXIN is perfect for that! Just put it on before using any product that causes heat damage on those strands!
By day 3-4 my hair usually winds up in a messy bun or ponytail because it’s usually a mess by that time. Also, baseball hats are my best friend, not to mention that they look super cute when styled right! In fact, this gives me an idea for an upcoming post! 😉 Styling a baseball cap 5 different ways! Coming to you soon…. 😉
