My mind has been a jumbled up mess lately and I know it’s because I’ve been taking on too much. Too many work obligations and not enough quality time spent enjoying what really matters……life with my family. I used to put the kids to bed and sit for hours on the computer trying to get work done and meet this deadline and that deadline but over the past two weeks, I changed all of that. Once the kids go to bed, we clean up and cuddle into bed to watch one of our new favorite series, Power. We chit chat until we fall asleep all while making sure my phone is tucked away somewhere I won’t feel tempted to check it. Because, what’s most important is right in front of me.
Long hikes. They’re so good for the soul. For thinking and making peace within this busy brain of mine. I need to find that peace and order so that I can be the best mom that I can be. We’ve been hiking here a lot and it’s just what I need. Olivia seems to love it too 😉
I gave these new SOREL “Cozy 1964” kicks a trial run the other day and I ended up wearing them until 8 pm that night. They’re basically hiking slippers and so I am never taking them off, ever. I also picked up a pair of these which have been great to slip on when I am leaving the house in a hurry! Both of these are available at Zappos and I know that I have raved about them many times in the past, but I am going to do that again today because I love this brand so much. Their shipping is the best I’ve ever found with free ONE DAY shipping and free returns. It makes online shopping quick, easy and enjoyable. As a mother, these things are high up on the priority list.
Winston is getting so big and I truly don’t understand how puppies grow so fast. It must hurt to grow that quickly?! He’s been better about not peeing on all my rugs and he’s really our best friend. He brings so much joy to every day and I am so happy we brought him into our lives. I had three German Shepards growing up and they truly are the best dogs. He already knows how to sit, stay, come and lay down. Walking on a leash though, that will take some serious time 😉 He nearly broke my arm while hiking yesterday…..
Yes, that is a motorcycle jacket. I cannot even handle the cuteness overload.
