Olivia is becoming quite the little diva around here. Age three is no joke (as I have been warned by many other mothers) but it’s also the most fun I’ve yet being a mother yet. Some of the things that she says and does are so absolutely ridiculous that I wish we had a camcorder on her at all times. She’s sassy and likes to snap right back when you ask her to do something. For example, “Olivia, can you please eat your dinner.” Olivia’s response: “Uhm, no. Mom, you eat your dinner.” HA. Well, okay then…..
I love watching her grow into her personality and become her own little person. She is one of the kindest people I have ever met and if you seem upset, she will be the first to comfort and offer hugs. We have tried our very best day in and day out to raise her as a polite and caring soul and fingers crossed, so far so good. It can be so hard teaching these important things along the way but they are the most important.
Olivia just got this Fisher-Price® Shimmer and Shine™ Wish & Spin Shine doll in the mail, and I swear to goodness, she hasn’t put it down even once. She brings it to bed with her, to dinner with her and is always brushing her hair. For those of you that have no idea what or who Shimmer & Shine are, let me tell you a little bit about them….
Shimmer & Shine are part of an interactive preschool series that features two sisters that are genies-in-training and they have a human best friend named Leah. Since Shimmer & Shine don’t know much about the human world, they make mistakes granting wishes and each wish turns into a big adventure.
One of the best things about the dolls is that they’re animated, which makes it so much easier for Olivia to engage and interact with them for more than a few minutes. The dolls come with a genie bottle necklace that brings the dolls to life with its song, and Olivia now sings the songs 20 times a day 😉 I would recommend these dolls to anyone with a daughter ages 3-6 or so! It’s the perfect idea for a holiday gift if you are in the market!
One of my favorite things about this age that Olivia is now in is how much she talks and creates her own sentences. She will talk to herself for 10 minutes straight figuring out all the words to tie sentences together. Most of the time they make sense, but occasionally they don’t and it’s hilarious 😉 Watching her figure everything out is so fulfilling and one of my favorite things about being a mother.
It was 60 (SIXTY) degrees today so we took advantage of the weather and went for a long walk and hung out on the porch! This is the second of many Christmas trees we are putting up this year! I can’t wait to give you all the holiday tour!
Thanks for reading everyone! 🙂
