I thought I was tired after I had Olivia. I soon found out that I didn’t know what tired actually was until after Ellie was born (and more specifically, after Winston arrived). Having a 3 year old, 1 year old and a puppy basically ensures that I will be tired on a daily basis. Some people question my sanity and on most days, I do too 😉 I have tried to figure out ways to increase my energy and be able to just feel better in general and there are a few things that I think have definitely helped so I figured that I would share them with you!

Getting as much rest as you can is always something that people tell you to do but it’s so darn hard. Especially since our second baby still hasn’t received the memo that she needs to sleep THROUGH the night! But, I try to be in bed and attempting sleep by around 10 pm (or earlier if I can). Getting to bed as early as possible allows me to get in those hours before Ellie decides to wake up in the middle of the night.
Staying hydrated and eating well are huge factors into how we feel and the energy we are able to reserve. I was eating absolute crap after I had Ellie up until a few weeks ago when I started incorporating healthier choices and I can already see and feel a huge difference in the energy levels that I have and how my body feels. I’ve been meal planning more which helps us all to eat healthier and feel better as a whole. I recently tried out INVIA and was so impressed with the results. INVIA is basically your daily caffeine beverage but it also helps to keep you hydrated and contributes to your daily water intake. Oh, and it contains caffeine. Because we all know that I would not be able to live without it! INVIA currently comes in two flavors: mixed berry and lemonade tea and they make them in small pouches that you can dilute in water and have them on the go! INVIA is calorie free, sugar free AND low in sodium. I actually really loved the taste of the lemonade tea so that is the one I would suggest as it tasted delicious. Overall, INVIA has really helped me as a mom to focus on all the tasks I have to manage for my children.
Oh, and the very best part about INVIA is that it was developed by Dr. Robert Paul, a Neuropsychologist. INVIA contains Cognizin® Citicoline and has been proven to enhance memory and concentration in clinical trials among middle-aged women, older adults, and teens. Perfect for my postpartum mommy brain over here!
Daily exercise always makes me feel more energized. Actually, even if I had a rough night and only slept 4-5 hours, I still try and exercise because it gives me more energy. I know it sounds crazy but it’s 100% true. I will usually choose a workout that’s a little less intense like a 2 mile walk or very slow jog. It helps to wake up my mind and body and in turn, gives me more energy. I swear! Try it 😉
Try some energy boosting snacks including apples with peanut butter, chia seeds mixed into anything (they are packed with essential fatty acids, vitamins A, B, E & D), Hummus & crackers, or these amazing no bake energy balls!
I would love to know how you increase your energy on a daily basis!
