Beauty Must Haves for Moms

This post is sponsored by Nordstrom. All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own. Thank you so much for your support of this blog and the brand’s that we truly love!

I have always been pretty low maintenance when it came to my beauty products, and I still am! There are however, a few beauty products that I swear by and I cannot wait to tell you about them in today’s post with Nordstrom! Motherhood doesn’t allow for much time to devote to getting yourself ready in the morning and there are some mornings where I only have 5-10 minutes and I have nailed down my beauty routine with products that I have been using for quite awhile! My husband always says that the less makeup, the better and I secretly love this philosophy because it makes my morning routine a lot easier πŸ˜‰

First things first, a hot red lip for date night! I hardly ever wear lipstick but when I do, this is the BEST red I have ever found. MAC’s Ruby Woo was suggested to me awhile back and I just love the richness of it! I usually put a clear gloss right over it for date night! My hubby said I look dangerous πŸ˜‰ Another close favorite for every day wear is my MAC retro matte liquid lipcolor in “Lady be good”. It’s the perfect neutral with a tint of color and I love the way it looks with any outfit!

When I was in high school and college, the only thing I ever did for a makeup routine was put on under eye concealer and curl my eyelashes. I never go anywhere without curling them and I have been using the same brand for YEARS. I have tried to many different ones and this one is by far the best! I just noticed that it’s also on sale currently! I am actually going to scoop another one up because mine is so old!

As I have told many of you before, I only wash my hair 1-2 times per week. Any more than that dries out my hair significantly because of my highlights. On the day that I wash my hair, I will blow dry (after using my Caviar Repair Multi-Vitamin heat protection spray), and then curl! Once it’s all set, I keep it in place with the best hair spray ever. This is no exaggeration. This living proof hair spray smells so good and it’s very light! I am still able to run my fingers through my hair no matter how much I put in and it all looks very natural. I swear by this stuff! I’ve had the Caviar repair spray for over 8 months now and a little bit goes a LONG way, so even though it’s $32, it lasts FOREVER and I have noticed a huge difference since I started using it.

If you watched my Instagram stories a few weeks back, you’ll know that I was chatting a bit about that postpartum smell that us mothers tend to think we give off. I have NO idea what it is because others around me don’t smell it, but I sure do! No matter what deodorant I tried, I never seemed to smell the way I wanted to! I was chatting with a friend recently about this and she told me that I needed to try this Cashmere Mist Deodorant and I wasn’t too keen on the price tag but I went for it. HOLY SMOKES. This deodorant is the first deodorant that I have tried that makes me smell like roses! πŸ˜‰ A postpartum mama’s dream come true! It’s currently 15% off so if you want to try it out, now is the time!

One last product that I absolutely swear by is this setting mist with SPF 50 by Supergoop! Once you have your makeup done, just spray all over and voila! Your makeup is set AND you’re protecting your skin from the sun’s harsh rays! I love that this contains SPF in it and it’s so easy to put on. Plus, it smells delicious and it’s paraben, synthetic fragrance AND oxybenzone free! Just keep in mind that it’s only water and sweat resistant for 40 minutes, so make sure to reapply as needed!

Oh, and I just scooped up this nail polish set by butter LONDON and I cannot wait to try them out! This whole set is currently $30, that’s 30% off the original price! I will be sure to let you know how I like the colors inside once it arrives!

My favorite for new Moms is the Bed Head “Rockstar Dry Shampoo” for those non-wash days. Big Sexy Hair “Play Dirty” to give some hair a little lift when the hair thins a bit after birth. Smashbox “Always on Matte” liquid lipstick in deep nude, stays on kiss after kiss. As a new mom I πŸ’¦ a lot, which gave me oil eyelids way more than usual. I used to use Urban Decay primer potion, but I found that their recipe changed and now I LOVE Milani eye shadow primer and it’s half the price.

My favorite beauty product is Rodan and Fields Eye Cream. Especially with all the late night feedings and living on minimal sleep, makes me look like I get 10 hours of sleep at night ha!!

I love the primally pure cleansing oil! It’s the only product that cleared up my postpartum acne.
Also, dry shampoo is a must for all moms. My favorites are Eva NYC and Amika.

My favorite brand of makeup and skin/body care products are 100% pure they use fruit as their pigmentation base and for the first time ever with sensitive skin I’m actually able to use the soap and masks!!

I used Cashmere Mist for years, but I got sick of the white residue getting on my clothes and I could swear it stopped working for me after a while. So, I tried Fresh Sugar Roll-On Deodorant from Nordstrom and it is amazing! I was hesitant about a roll-on, but it dries quick. Converted forever! Try it!

I WANTED to like the Supergoop setting spray, but I found it sticky and so hard to apply with the spray application (i.e. in my eyes every time). How do you keep it from getting all over your eyes? I would love to hear any tips. Perhaps it’s user error….

“Postpartum stink” LOL so glad to know I’m not the only one!! Definitely going to order that deodorant today, thanks so much for the review!

I may be a bit partial, but can’t live without my lipsense. It’s so magical and stays put without smearing for hours. I was a huggeee Ruby Woo fan for years, but once I had kids it always rubbed off on them! I stopped wearing lipstick completely. Now my go to is Lipsense in Blu-Red! It’s so similar to ruby but doesn’t rub off!

I am loving drunk elephant Lala retro whipped cream for my dry and super sensitive skin, as well as cremo shaving creams (which has literally changed my husband and i’s lives NO JOKE:)). The shaving cream I have been using is by native (cannot remember the scent but it is the coconut one), I am also an absolute die hard fan of new wash by Hairstory it is the most unique stuff I have ever used! Thanks πŸ™πŸ»

LOVE that mac lipstick! I’m not a huge make up kind of gal, but I recently discovered beautycounter, 100% non toxic products and they feel super luxurious. The dew skin is my go to-tinted coverage, SPF, and moisturizer in one, I don’t know what I’d do without it! Let me know if you have any questions about it-it’s a great on the go product, and I’m all about simplifying things in the morning! I’d be happy to send you some samples in the mail πŸ™‚
